Memorial Day

For Memorial Day, we went to Living Planet Aquarium with Grandma Buskirk and the Buskirk cousins. Sarah, Ella, and Leah pose for a picture while Kate checks out the display in the background with Robbie.

Tommy and Topher take turns "Driving" the boat while learning about the Great Salt Lake and its ecosystems. Tommy almost crashed into the harbor! Fun exhibit.

All the kids loved the frogs. We spent a long time on this exhibit. The frogs were jumping, and climbing hills, and climbing in the grass. It is fun to see frogs move around in their natural habitat.

All the kids liked the "glow in the dark" Jelly Fish. Here is Topher.

Brett loved the Tropical Fish. Who wouldn't want to go swimming with Nemo and Dora??

We all got a kick out of the sting rays. You could touch and feel them. But luckily, they don't really sting.

The sting rays were pretty active. They would come up and swim sideways against the wall, almost shaking your hand. And then, they would come face up, right towards you, almost out of the tank, and "kiss" you! Agh!

Have you ever met a penguin up close and face to face?? Tom has! And Tommy loved it! The penguins were swimming and diving all over. It was fun to see above and below the water in the tank. These guys were really awesome!

After the Aquarium, we went to Grandpa Buskirk's grave and decorated it with flowers. There were a ton of people at the cemetery. Here is all the grandkids at grandpa's grave. We thought it looked real nice. After the grave sight, we went home to have a big BBQ. Dad would have loved it!

Leah with the flowers. Notice the small American flag, next to her hand. Hand crafted out of Legos by Tom!
