Another one in Braces!

For Martin Luther King Day, Topher got Braces!  How fun!

He joins Rob, who is almost done (hopefully) and Brett who has had his braces for about a year.

Braces will make Topher even more handsome, but yikes! They are expensive!!

Nerds of the Square Table

Saturday, we spent the day at the District Chess Tournament.  Something I never even dreamed of.  I don't even know how to play chess, and Randy is more of a "sports guy".

But Robbie and Brett have been spending Tuesdays after school in the chess club.  They have had fun, and made a few new friends. The last few weeks all 27 of the chess kids have been challenging each other to qualify for one of 6 spots to go to the district tournament.

Brett placed #1! Congrats to Brett. So Brett played all the schools #1 champion. Unfortunately, on the day of the tournament, Brett was extremely sick. But he battled through it, and had a great time at the tournament.

Rob, placed 7th. A bummer, but he still got to attend the event as an alternate.  He was able to play a game or two, with some of the other alternates.  I think our school, Eastmont, placed 4th.

Bretts's Theater Play

Brett's Theater class has been working on a play all semester. First, they brainstormed for ideas, then wrote the whole play. Actually, its more like sketches or like Saturday Night live. Then they  planned for costumes, practiced and last night finally performed it for the parents and friends.  they did a fabulous job.

Brett's skit was about the "Olympics" During  a woman's event, 3 boys sneak in to check out the girls. Brett, as security guard, tries to keep them in line.  But they end up cheering (and dancing) loudly to support the womens gymnastics.
