Camping!!!!!

The Albion Basin had beautiful flowers, but no more room for camping.  So we ended up going back down the mountain to Tanners Flat.

We all got to take turns chopping wood for the fire.

We took a short hike down to the river.
  What a beautiful place!

The kids loved throwing rocks into the river.

Thomas and Rob found an old broken down damn.
It was interesting to check it out.

The kids made their own damn with rocks
to divert the river back to the middle.

We got a new Kerosene Lantern.
Boy, was it bright! Yea!

 Gotta love those Mallows!

It is July 29th and we finally went camping. We packed up the car, even thought the weather didn't look promising. It was our only chance to camp due to an extremely busy summer this year.

So, we headed up to Albion Basin. As we are headed up the canyon, the thermometer reads a warm 58 degrees in a torrential downpour! Wow! camping should be fun today!!

By the time we got to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, the sky was blue and it had warmed up to a comfortable 72 degrees. Let's go camping!

Unfortunately, the campground was full. Disappointed, we headed back down the mountain to check out Tanners Flat. Luckily, they had several campsites to choose from. We found a beautiful campsite near the river.

We stopped and took lots of pictures for my craft room wall. Friday morning, we had breakfast, then packed up, and then went for a hike up Granite Trail. It was a fun hike that ended by a lake. The kids had fun dropping rocks in the lake and looking at the ducks. All in all, a fun family adventure!
